The show tells a rags-to-riches story of a working-class fishing family in 1890s Yorkshire who suddenly come into great wealth. Liam MacMahon and Claire Cooper lead the cast as the family heads. The series is adapted from novels by C.L. Skelton and produced in Ireland.
Channel 5 renewed the show for a second season in July 2025 after strong viewer response. The same production team behind the network's successful All Creatures Great and Small revival is handling the new season.
