David Howard Thornton Proposes in Full Art the Clown Costume at Comic Con

David Howard Thornton made his marriage proposal as scary as possible. The Terrifier star got down on one knee while dressed as his character Art the Clown at the Huntsville Comic and Pop Culture Expo.

Thornton proposed to Jada Christine, his girlfriend of nine months, while wearing the full black-and-white clown costume and makeup that has terrified movie audiences. The proposal happened in front of convention attendees over the weekend.

The Terrifier horror movie series, directed by Damien Leone, has become a cult hit. Thornton's character Art the Clown is known for his disturbing appearance and violent behavior in the films.

Comic conventions often feature actors in costume meeting fans, but proposing while in character takes fan engagement to a new level. The couple's engagement adds a romantic twist to what is normally a frightening character.
