Denis Villeneuve Debuts 'Dune: Part Three' Footage at CinemaCon 2025
Director Denis Villeneuve showed exclusive footage from 'Dune: Part Three' at CinemaCon this week. He called the upcoming movie a thriller that will be darker and more emotional than the first two films.

Hollywood studios rolled out their biggest upcoming movies at CinemaCon this week, with Warner Bros. stealing the show through exclusive 'Dune: Part Three' footage.
Director Denis Villeneuve appeared on stage with his cast to preview scenes from the final movie in his Dune trilogy. Villeneuve told the audience the third film will be 'a thriller' that takes a darker, more emotional direction than the previous two movies.
Warner Bros. also showed clips from other major upcoming films. Attendees saw footage of Karl Urban as Johnny Cage fighting Baraka in 'Mortal Kombat II.' The studio previewed 'Supergirl' with Milly Alcock's character battling space pirates who hijack an airbus.
The first two Dune movies earned critical praise and big box office numbers. 'Dune: Part One' made $400 million worldwide in 2021, while 'Dune: Part Two' brought in over $700 million this year. Both films won multiple Academy Awards for their visual effects and cinematography.
The Dune movies have been massive hits, bringing in over $1 billion worldwide. The third film will wrap up one of Hollywood's biggest sci-fi stories and could shape what kinds of big-budget movies studios make next.
Warner Bros. has not announced a release date for 'Dune: Part Three.' More footage will likely debut at Comic-Con this summer.
