Dr. Shahryar Tork Sues JourneyLite Surgery Center Over Rachel Tussey Death
Dr. Shahryar Tork sued JourneyLite Surgery Center, claiming nurses gave fatal drug doses to TikToker Rachel Tussey after her tummy tuck surgery. Tork says he left Tussey alert and talking, but nurses later gave her 150 micrograms of fentanyl and 0.5 mg of Dilaudid.

Dr. Shahryar Tork filed a lawsuit against JourneyLite Surgery Center and Associated Anesthesiologists of Springfield over the death of TikToker Rachel Tussey. Tork claims he's tired of rumors blaming him for her death.
According to the lawsuit, Tussey was alert and talking after her tummy tuck procedure when Tork left the surgery center. He believed she would be in good hands with the nursing staff.
The lawsuit alleges that two nurses at JourneyLite then administered 150 micrograms of fentanyl and 0.5 mg of Dilaudid to Tussey. Tork claims these drug doses led to her death.
Tork is pushing back against suggestions that he caused Tussey's death, instead pointing the finger at the surgery center's post-operative care. The case involves multiple parties including the surgery center and anesthesiology group.
This case shows how responsibility gets assigned when cosmetic surgery goes wrong. It highlights the risks of pain medications after surgery and who makes those critical dosing decisions that can mean life or death.
The lawsuit will proceed through courts as both sides present their cases about who was responsible for Tussey's post-surgery care.
