Disney has been working to expand ESPN's global footprint as streaming becomes the dominant way people watch sports. Luke Kang, president of Disney Asia Pacific, previously confirmed Disney's plans to bring ESPN to Disney+ across Asia.
The move comes as Disney continues bundling its entertainment and sports content to compete with other streaming services. ESPN's expansion through Disney+ gives the company a way to reach sports fans without building separate apps in each country.
