In the comic's first issue, the ancient Lt. Starck shows up unexpectedly carrying a dismembered demon, effectively closing out the opening chapter. The original Event Horizon movie was released in August 1997 and became a cult classic despite initially poor box office performance.
The film followed a rescue crew that investigates a spaceship that disappeared and suddenly returned with something new aboard. The movie starred Laurence Fishburne and Sam Neill alongside Richardson.
Event Horizon has a huge cult following despite bombing at the box office 29 years ago. Fans have been waiting decades for any kind of sequel to the beloved space horror movie.
