Walker's agency, Elite Loyalty Sports, announced the deal includes $77 million in total guarantees and $50 million fully guaranteed at signing. The $27.5 million average per year puts him among the highest-paid edge rushers in the NFL.
The 25-year-old Walker was the first overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. He had a breakout 2023 season with 10.5 sacks and helped anchor a Jaguars defense that improved dramatically under his leadership.
Walker's extension comes as the Jaguars try to build around a young core that includes quarterback Trevor Lawrence. The team made the playoffs in 2022 and hopes to return to contention in the competitive AFC South division.
