This helicopter ride comes just months after Kid Rock caused problems for the Army. In March, Apache helicopters from Fort Campbell flew over his Nashville-area home without authorization. Kid Rock posted video of himself saluting the aircraft from his pool.
The Army launched an investigation into that incident and grounded the helicopter crews involved. Military officials said the flyby was not authorized and that they were "committed to enforcing standards and holding personnel accountable."
Monday's flight appears to be an official event, unlike the earlier unauthorized flyover that got military personnel in trouble.
This comes months after Kid Rock sparked an Army investigation when helicopters flew over his Tennessee home without permission. The military had to ground crews and investigate the unauthorized flyby earlier this year.
The Army investigation into the March flyover incident may still be ongoing.
