Mariah Carey Says She Doesn't Care About Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Snub

Mariah Carey said she doesn't care about being left off the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's latest induction list. She was spotted outside The Peninsula Hotel in NYC on Monday, where she brushed off the snub.
The rejection surprised even Hall of Fame leadership. Chairman John Sykes told Billboard that Carey's snub was the biggest surprise this year for him. "I really believed that Mariah Carey should have, would have been inducted this year, because I think she's deserving," Sykes said.
But Sykes noted he doesn't control the process alone. The Hall of Fame uses a voting committee to decide inductees each year.
Carey has dominated pop music for over three decades with hits like "Vision of Love" and "We Belong Together." She holds the record for most number-one singles by a solo artist on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Sykes said he spoke with Carey about the snub but didn't share details of their conversation.
The Hall of Fame recognizes the most influential musicians in history. When major artists like Carey get snubbed, it raises questions about how the voting process works and who really deserves recognition.
The Hall of Fame will announce next year's nominees and vote again. Carey remains eligible for future induction.
