NFL Analyst Says Panthers Won't Land Top WR Prospects Despite Strong Connections
An NFL analyst believes the Carolina Panthers won't land any top wide receiver prospects in the 2026 draft, even though the team is strongly connected to several players in this class.

An NFL analyst is skeptical that the Carolina Panthers will successfully draft any of the top wide receiver prospects in 2026, despite strong connections to several players in the class.
The Panthers have made wide receivers a priority in recent drafts. They selected Tetairoa McMillan at No. 8 overall in 2025, who won Offensive Rookie of the Year, and Xavier Legette at No. 32 in 2024.
Panthers General Manager Dan Morgan said he "wouldn't hesitate" to draft another wide receiver in the first round for a third straight year. The team has done extensive homework on top pass catchers and could target a receiver on Day 2 if they go another direction in round one.
Some analysts suggest the Panthers might need to draft earlier than expected to land a fast-rising receiver prospect. There's also speculation the team could part ways with Legette, who caught 35 passes in 15 games last season, and target later-round prospects like Georgia State's Ted Hurst or Connecticut's Skyler Bell.
The Panthers have drafted wide receivers in the first round for two straight years and need to keep building their offense around young quarterback Bryce Young. Getting the right receivers could determine whether their offense takes off.
The 2026 NFL Draft will show whether the analyst's prediction proves correct or if the Panthers land another top receiver.
