Nikola Jokic Calls Victor Wembanyama 'Most Unique Basketball Player Ever'

Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic gave Victor Wembanyama the ultimate compliment after their recent game, saying the San Antonio Spurs rookie "has an opportunity and chance to be the most unique basketball player to ever play the game."

The praise came after Wembanyama, who stands 7-foot-4, blocked Jokic twice during Saturday's matchup. Jokic, a three-time NBA MVP, had to change his usual shooting style because of Wembanyama's incredible reach.

"If you guys remember, a few years ago, he actually blocked the type of shot," Jokic explained, describing why he had to loft the ball much higher than normal over "the 7-foot-4 string bean."

This isn't the first time Jokic has predicted greatness for Wembanyama. The Nuggets star made similar comments about the young French player before he even entered the NBA.

Wembanyama's combination of size, skill, and athleticism is unlike anything the league has seen. At his height, most players can only play near the basket. But Wembanyama can shoot three-pointers, handle the ball, and move like a much smaller player.
