Oklahoma Coach Brent Venables Praises Safety Omarion Robinson's Growth

Oklahoma football coach Brent Venables is pleased with freshman safety Omarion Robinson's growth as the young player prepares for a bigger role in the team's secondary.
The Sooners need Robinson to contribute after losing Robert Spears-Jennings from their safety position. Robinson was one of five secondary players that Venables praised during his December signing day press conference.
Robinson comes to Oklahoma with strong credentials. He was ranked as a top-3 safety by 247Sports, ESPN and On3 recruiting services. He also won the 2024 Rivals Five-Star Camp Defensive Back MVP award.
At Parkview High School in Arkansas, Robinson helped his team win back-to-back state titles in 2022 and 2023. In his senior season, he recorded 42 tackles, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and 10 pass breakups.
The freshman is part of what Venables called a strong group of secondary recruits that joined Oklahoma this year.
Robinson is a highly-rated freshman who could play a key role in Oklahoma's defense this season. His development will help determine how well the team's secondary performs in crucial games.
Robinson will compete for playing time as Oklahoma prepares for the upcoming season.
