Opera Browser Adds AI Chatbot Connection for ChatGPT and Claude
Opera launched a new Browser Connector feature that lets users connect AI chatbots like ChatGPT and Claude directly to their web browser. The AI assistants can read the content on open web pages and answer questions based on what users are currently browsing.

Opera rolled out Browser Connector for its Opera One and Opera GX browsers, giving users a new way to get AI help while surfing the web. The feature works with popular chatbots ChatGPT and Claude.
Unlike typical AI assistants that work separately, these connected chatbots can actually see what's on your screen. They read the content from your open browser tabs and use that information to answer your questions or help with tasks.
The company calls this an "autonomous browsing agent" that can complete tasks across different websites. For example, you could ask the AI to summarize a long article you're reading or help you compare products on shopping sites.
Opera already offered some AI features in its browsers, including built-in ChatGPT, Gemini, and its own Opera AI. This new connector takes the integration further by letting the AI tools directly control browser functions.
The Browser Connector is available as a free feature for existing Opera users.
This means you can get instant help understanding complicated websites, research topics faster, and get AI assistance without switching between apps. The feature is free and could change how people browse the internet by making AI help available on every webpage.
Opera will likely expand which AI services work with the connector and add more browsing features.
