Tennis Coach Francisco Roig Leaves Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard for Iga Swiatek
Tennis coach Francisco Roig left French player Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard after less than a month to join Iga Swiatek's coaching team. Mpetshi Perricard told a French newspaper that Roig didn't tell him directly about the switch.

Francisco Roig, who used to coach tennis star Rafael Nadal, has left Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard's team to coach world-ranked player Iga Swiatek. The partnership lasted less than a month.
Mpetshi Perricard, ranked 57th in the world, told a French newspaper that Roig didn't tell him about the move directly. "He didn't tell me directly," the French player said. He added that it took him half a day to process the news.
The French player said the timing suggests Roig's move to Swiatek was probably planned before their split became official. "It took me half a day to process it. Was it my fault? Not at all. I had nothing to do with it," Mpetshi Perricard explained.
Roig previously worked with Rafael Nadal's coaching team before joining Mpetshi Perricard. Now he's set to work with Swiatek, one of the top women's tennis players in the world.
This shows how quickly top tennis coaches can change teams, even after short partnerships. For tennis fans, it means major changes for both players as they prepare for upcoming tournaments.
Watch for how both players perform with their new coaching setups in upcoming tournaments.
