Thief Jailed for Stealing Handbag with £2.2m Fabergé Egg from London Pub

An opportunistic thief received a prison sentence of more than two years for what seemed like a routine handbag theft that turned out to involve one of the world's most expensive stolen items.

The man stole a handbag from a pub in Soho, central London, not knowing it contained an emerald-encrusted Fabergé egg and matching watch set valued at up to £2.2 million (about $3 million).
