Tommy Lloyd Sets Goal of Five Final Fours in 10 Years After Arizona's First Since 2001
Arizona basketball coach Tommy Lloyd says he wants to take the Wildcats to five Final Fours in the next 10 years. This comes after Arizona reached the Final Four for the first time since 2001 this season.

Arizona basketball coach Tommy Lloyd is dreaming big after his team's breakthrough season. The Wildcats made the Final Four for the first time in 23 years, ending a drought that stretched back to 2001.
But Lloyd isn't satisfied with just one trip. "One Final Four? Why don't we go five times in 10 years? That's where my mind is at," Lloyd said. "That's my big dream. Maybe you guys will use that against me someday, but I'm going to dream big and work my a** off to try and make it happen."
Lloyd won the Naismith Coach of the Year award after leading Arizona to a 36-3 record this season. His success comes after years as an assistant coach at Gonzaga, where he helped build that program into a consistent Final Four contender.
The coach has maintained close ties with his former Gonzaga colleagues Mark Few and Dan Monson. The three coaches try to meet every Wednesday night during the Final Four to reconnect.
Lloyd's ambitious timeline would put Arizona among college basketball's most elite programs. Only a handful of schools have reached five Final Fours in a decade.
Lloyd's bold goal shows how quickly Arizona basketball has bounced back to elite status. For fans and recruits, it signals the program expects to compete for national titles regularly, not just celebrate one good season.
Arizona will look to build on this season's success with recruiting and roster changes for next year's championship run.
